This Part C of the Surakarta itinerary series is meant for when I’m taking my beloved niece and nephew or if the main objective is to entertain kids between the age of 5 and 10. So the places chosen has to be kid-friendly, full with exciting experiences, and simultaneously fun while also being educational, if possible.
Part B: For Weekend Trip with My Parents – Surakarta Itinerary Series
This Part B is meant for when I’m traveling with my parents, since they typically like to try traditional food & snacks, prioritizes buying souvenirs (oleh-oleh), not good with long walks or stairs, and will take a bunch of pictures and selfies.
Part A: For Solo/ Local Duo Weekend Trip – Surakarta Itinerary Series
This Part A is meant for myself or people similar to me: Into museums and heritage places, don’t chase Instagrammable places, not a local-food hunter, have decent budget all-around, and eager to walk thousands of steps a day plus utilizing public transportation.
A Review of Surakarta
In short, Surakarta is a lovely place to live in, but could be a boring one to visit if you’re not into its richness in Javanese culture.
